Geo Convert Chrome Extension · Last updated: 2026-07-31
Geo Convert (“the Extension”) helps you convert common geospatial file formats and preview them on a map. This policy explains what data we access and what we do not do.
Data we access
When you choose or paste geo data, the Extension reads that content on your device to parse, reproject (when needed), preview, and export. Export files (GeoJSON, KML, WKT, Shapefile zip) are generated locally and downloaded to your computer.
Map tiles
The map preview loads raster tiles from OpenStreetMap tile servers so you can see geography in context. Your uploaded or pasted geo files are not uploaded to OpenStreetMap or to us; only standard tile image requests are made.
Data we do not collect
- We do not operate a backend server for this Extension.
- We do not upload your geo files, exports, or browsing history to our servers.
- We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
- We do not use analytics SDKs or advertising trackers in the Extension.
Permissions
- Host access to OpenStreetMap tile URLs — load map tiles for the preview only.
The Extension does not request access to arbitrary websites or your active tab content.
Local storage
The current version does not store personal information in cloud accounts.
Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy when the Extension changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised accordingly.
